Perched on the side of a tree-covered hill overlooking Montague Harbour is a pagoda - shaped Bed & Breakfast with a breathtaking ocean view of British Columbia's Gulf Islands.

The Cliff Pagoda; a unique northwest coast property situated on Galiano Island, one of the idyllic Canadian Gulf Islands lying between Vancouver and Victoria.

Owned and operated by Ric & Brigitte Finnie; this well-traveled couple met in India in the late sixties and settled on Galiano in the early eighties. Ric & Brigitte were able to project their dreams into reality with the construction of The Cliff Pagoda; a Bed & Breakfast retreat center, that physically and spiritually reflects their travels and multi-cultured backgrounds. Brigitte is from France and has written and published three books in the auto-biographical-travel format (editions - Flammarion, Paris, France) and is currently a fashion designer of unique one of kind pieces she creates at her studio in Goa, India during the winter months.

Ric is a lower profile 5th generation Canadian who is still trying to find out why he was sent down to this planet; in the meantime assists his wife with the more mundane business at handy type duties of daily life in paradise.

The Cliff Pagoda itself was built as Bed & Breakfast retreat center retreat, with eight rooms on three floors. There are three bathrooms, a large kitchen-dining area that moves down into another large living area and there are spacious outdoor decks both upper and lower with a hot tub and wood-burning sauna. There is enough space to comfortably accommodate 16 people in a workshop/retreat environment, with another 8 people

Situated high up overlooking Montague Harbour, the Cliff Pagoda affords a magnificent view of the ocean and the mountains surrounding Vancouver Island off in the distance.

The cabin stands alone nestled in the tress and perched high on a cliff overlooking Montague Harbour. Set apart from the main house for complete privacy there are two private suites, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both feature their own unique decor and are fully self-contained.

Cabin - Top Floor - $125.00 per night, based on double occupancy. Breakfast is only served at the BB, we can not accommodate breakfast services to the Cabin or Suite
Its elegant simplicity with a big futon couch to relax in front of the woodstove while watching satelite tv or the ocean view thru the large windows.	With an outdoor dining area viewing the harbour with vista towards Mt. Benson and the Cowichen Valley on Vancouver Island.	The kitchen is bright with a skylight and features all you will need for a gourmet meal. Counter tops and floor are in ruby red granite including a fridge, stove coffee machine and toaster.	The bedroom with a view on the ocean and forest thru the covered deck. Indoor - outdoor living with a cozy queen bed and louvered closets. All sitting on solid oak flooring.

Cabin - Sherazad Suite (downstairs) - $125.00 per night, based on double occupancy. Breakfast is only served at the BB, we can not accommodate breakfast services to the Cabin or Suite
Downstairs deck with lounging area and views of the ocean. Very comfy under the colourful indian 'shamayana' (canopy).	Kitchen with granite counter tops and wooden bar. Stunning forest view thru the covered deck outside.	Japanese tub with a shower for two in a granite and pebble bath. Soak up the atmosphere.	Romantic alcove with ensuite facilities with double futton and complete privacy.

Cliff Pagoda was built to be a bed-and-breakfast:
All the rooms have been carefully designed and they all have incredible views. Each one has its on style, some are really grandiose like the Maharaja room, or more simple like the forestview rooms. But they are all unique, and it is a change from the traditional B & B experience of quilts, antiques and muffins.

This dramatic room facing the court yard, will let you enjoy the view of our Japanese style garden, with its pond and water fall.	You will enjoy the stunning oceanfront view of Montague Harbour and the Southern Gulf Islands from our luxurious oceanview rooms.	The "meditation room" perched at the very top of the pagoda, is like a tree house with all the comfort. It has its own little deck and you can lay in the hamac watching the sun set or the eagles for hours.	The maharaja room, with its carved-in-the- rock bath tub, its king size bed and the Indian style canopy. The only room where you can get breakfast in bed.(we will bring it to your door).
